Artist's Description

The 64th Aggressor Squadron (64th AGRS) is assigned to the 57th Adversary Tactics Group stationed at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada. The 64th AGRS is assigned 24 F-16C Fighting Falcon aircraft, painted in camouflage schemes identical to those observed on Russian-manufactured aircraft providing Air Combat Maneuvering training to USAF and other aviation forces in conjunction with Red Flag exercises. It operates in conjunction with the 65th AGRS, which performs a similar task using F-15C Eagles. The Aggressor Squadron program has its origins in the post-Vietnam War Air Force, when in 1975 the benefits of evaluating obtained Foreign Technology aircraft (HAVE DRILL, HAVE PRIVILEGE, HAVE DOUGHNUT, HAVE FERRY) at test ranges in Nevada were applied to operational fighter squadrons, in order to improve the combat flying skills of front-line USAF pilots during the Cold War.
