Detachment 2, 25th Intelligence Squadron provides specialized intelligence to Air Force and Joint Special Operations aircraft and missions in the European theater. The Detachment operationally supports the 352d Special Operations Wing and Special Operations Command-Europe as well as worldwide contingency, exercise, and crisis operations. The Detachment dates back to October 1993 when it was formed as a flight under the 488th Intelligence Squadron, represented by the bat in the emblem. At that time, the 352d Special Operations Group was located at Royal Air Force Alconbury. Since 2003, the unit has been administratively subordinate to the 25th Intelligence Squadron at Hurlburt Field, Florida. Detachment 2 has participated in combat, humanitarian, and rescue operations in the Central Command, Africa Command, and European Command theaters since its inception.
